Opportunities for Free Manufacturing Training and Jobs This Week

Plan to attend May 12 Orientation and May 15 Job Fair to chart a new career course!

Only One Orientation Session to qualify for May 18 free manufacturing training course

Are you looking for a new job with a bright future? The Louisville region has hundreds of job openings in manufacturing, and employers are hiring!

Act now to claim your seat in the next training class that can give you the edge in getting one of those jobs! The class will start May 18 and conclude on June 12. 


The one-month training course at the Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center at 160 Rochester Dr. in south Louisville leads to a “Certified Production Technician” credential. This credential is recognized by the region’s leading manufacturing companies. Those companies recruit from graduates of the course each month.


Your first step is to attend a required Orientation Session at the center, 160 Rochester Dr. in the Airport Industrial Center in south Louisville. The center is on the TARC Bus Route 4, “Southside @ Rochester” and about a four-minute drive from the S. 3rd Street exit off the Watterson Expressway (I-264).

To qualify for the May 18 course, you must attend the Orientation Session scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at 2 pm.

May 15 Job Fair will offer manufacturing opportunities

The Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center and the Justice Resource Center are holding a Job Fair on Friday, May 15, from 10 am to 2 pm, at 160 Rochester Dr., Airport Industrial Center, in south Louisville.


This Job Fair is focused on filling jobs with local manufacturing companies. WLOU 107.4 FM will be broadcasting live from the Job Fair.

Representatives from more than 30 manufacturers are expected with hundreds of positions to fill. Among the employers are Auto Truck Group, Cardinal Aluminum, CEVA Logistics, Dakkota, Owens & Minor, Rider Logistics, Siemens, Simonds International, Westport Axle and more.


Job Fair attendees should register in advance at https://focuscareer.ky.gov/career/. Anyone without access to a computer can register at the Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center prior to the Job Fair.

Job seekers should bring a photo ID/Social Security card and copies of a resume or work history. Be sure to dress professionally to meet employers. The Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center is on the TARC Bus Route 4, “Southside and Rochester.”
